POSITION DESCRIPTION

The Valley College of Osteopathic Medicine (The Valley COM) seeks a dynamic and highly experienced professional to serve as the Director of Clinical Partnership Development. This strategic leadership role is responsible for cultivating, optimizing and maintaining strong relationships between The Valley COM and clinical education partners, including hospitals, health systems, and other clinical training sites.

Under the supervision of the Assistant Dean Clinical Education and GME, the director will develop and foster relationships with hospitals and health systems  to support the development and sustainability of high-quality clinical rotation experiences and facilitate the expansion of Graduate Medical Education (GME) opportunities in alignment with institutional goals and accreditation standards.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Mission Driven:

  • Advance The Valley COM’s mission by supporting clinical partnerships that enhance student learning and community health outcomes.

Leadership and Advisory:

  • Aid strategic leadership in identifying and securing new clinical sites and hospital partnerships.
  • Foster and expand on collaborative relationships between the medical school and clinical institutions, including hospitals, healthcare systems, and other healthcare providers.
  • Foster innovation in the ever evolving landscape of medical education.

Curriculum Support:

  • Collaborate with leadership, faculty and clinical partners to support assessment focused on improving the effectiveness of clinical rotations, faculty development, and experiential clinical learning opportunities.

Evaluation/Assessment:

  • Oversee the day-to-day management of clinical partnership operations, ensuring smooth integration of medical school students and residents into clinical environments.
  • Support the Assistant Dean Clinical Education & GME with quality improvement in clinical education.

 Strategic Planning:

  • Work with leadership to provide training and development opportunities for clinical faculty and preceptors.
  • Collaborate on building, identifying, and fostering current and potential development of clinical sites.

Student Support Services:

  • Work as a liaison between The Valley COM leadership, students, and clinical preceptors.

Collaboration, Research, & Innovation:

  • Work closely with internal departments, and Student Services, to ensure cohesive program delivery.
  • Identify opportunities for clinical research partnerships.
  • Promote innovative approaches to medical training and residency preparation.

 Accreditation, Quality, and Compliance:

  • Facilitate effective communication regarding compliance with contractual obligations and address any issues or concerns raised by stakeholders.
  • As needed, assist with reports related to partnership activities for accreditation reviews and other regulatory purposes.

Finance & Administration:

  • Demonstrate the ability to plan and manage travel expenses as related to normal job function.
  • Work with the Assistant Dean Clinical Education and GME to plan upcoming budget cycles.

General:

  • Perform other duties as assigned to support the mission and goals of The Valley COM.
  • Maintain professional affiliations and participate in relevant conferences and workshops.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s Degree, Master’s Degree preferred.
  • Experience in clinical education program development and management, preferred.
  • Demonstrated success in establishing and maintaining business or sales partnerships and relationships.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to travel regularly to develop and maintain clinical partnerships.
